At the Advancement Centre, we offer a number of services to assist with dyslexia treatment and dyslexia support including assessing children and adults and providing reports to help access extra support.

The earlier that dyslexia and other learning difficulties can be picked up the better it is for the person concerned, so many of our assessments are for children. We conduct assessments for dyslexia and other learning difficulties at the Centre, using the most advanced techniques in order to offer you the best results for you or your child.

At the Centre, we often use the Wechsler Intelligence Scales and the Stanford Binet Intelligence Scales as part of our assessment process for learning difficulties. We also use a dyslexia screening test as part of our assessment process, or by itself if dyslexia is already strongly suspected. We choose these tests because we believe they are the most comprehensive and detailed available and will best help us understand your child’s needs. We also provide specific achievement tests in subjects your child has undertaken at school, such as standardised maths or spelling.

Testing is undertaken at our centre wherever possible as we find it makes the process easier; however, we can also conduct assessments at your child’s school if you request this and if it is appropriate.

Once we have completed our assessments we provide you with a feedback session immediately, and subsequently a very detailed report covering our findings and making recommendations for dyslexia or other learning treatment or support you can access for your child. These reports will enable you to go back to your child’s educational provider to ask for additional dyslexia support or other help for your child.

At the centre, we offer you access to psychologists with decades of experience in dealing with children who have learning difficulties and have extensive knowledge of dyslexia treatment.
